Step 2 Success

Step 2 Success

Join Us! The MMRF is removing obstacles faster and extending lives. But we need your help. - Step 2 Success

Dear Family and Friends,

On April 28, Step 2 Success will be participating in our third Team for Cures walk in Boston to support the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). Thanks to your generosity, we have raised more than $30,000 over the past two years!

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM), the second most common blood cancer. It is incurable. Currently in remission and on a maintenance program, I am committed to supporting the MMRF as it works tirelessly to fund and develop new treatment options providing hope to patients, with the ultimate goal of one day finding a cure.

This year, our goal is to raise $10,000. An inspiring event that brings awareness to MM, the Boston walk/run is the largest fundraiser of the MMRF's 5K events around the country. Please consider a donation of any size or maybe even join our team!

Following Team Step 2 Success's participation at the Boston 5K, I will be training as a member of the MMRF's Chicago Marathon team. The marathon is scheduled for October 13. Check out my page for updates on that event at

My family and I are grateful for your support, and we look forward to the day when MM is cured. Thank you and we hope to see you on April 28!

Your generosity truly makes a difference, as funds raised at this event in the past have helped to:

Nearly triple patient survival
Deliver ten new treatments in a decade
Launch over 80 new clinical trials

The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to find a cure for multiple myeloma by relentlessly pursuing innovation that accelerates the development of next-generation treatments to extend the lives of patients. Founded in 1998 by Kathy Giusti, a multiple myeloma patient, and her twin sister Karen Andrews as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, the MMRF is a world-recognized leader in cancer research. Together with its partners, the MMRF has created the only end-to-end solution in precision medicine and the single largest genomic dataset in all cancers. The MMRF continues to disrupt the industry today, as a pioneer and leader at the helm of new research efforts. Since its inception, the organization has raised over $400 million and directs nearly 90% of the total funds to research and related programs. The MMRF is in the top 1% of all charities, having earned Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for 16 years. To learn more, visit
