Cancer Kickers will be walking/running with the MMRF Team for Cures for our 5th year in memory of 3 former Multiple Myeloma patients/teammates.
Kerry Lee Barton walked with us in 2017 and was a virtual walker in 2018. She lost her battle with Multiple Myeloma in mid December, 2018.
Joyce Simnett was a virtual walker in 2018 and lost her battle in mid January, 2019.
Muriel Wellington walked with us first in 2015 and lost her battle in 2017.
All 3 were amazing women who have inspired us to continue our commitment to raising awareness and funds to accelerate finding a cure for multiple myeloma. We also honor former Cancer Kicker Judy Howie who is dealing with a Stem Cell Transplant this March. This second most common blood cancer is incurable. Your generosity truly makes a difference, as funds raised at this event in the past have helped to:

Nearly tripled patient survival
Deliver ten new treatments in a decade
Launched over 80 new clinical trials

The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to find a cure for multiple myeloma by relentlessly pursuing innovation that accelerates the development of next-generation treatments to extend the lives of patients. Founded in 1998 by Kathy Giusti, a multiple myeloma patient, and her twin sister Karen Andrews as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, the MMRF is a world-recognized leader in cancer research. Together with its partners, the MMRF has created the only end-to-end solution in precision medicine and the single largest genomic dataset in all cancers. The MMRF continues to disrupt the industry today, as a pioneer and leader at the helm of new research efforts. Since its inception, the organization has raised over $400 million and directs nearly 90% of the total funds to research and related programs. The MMRF is in the top 1% of all charities, having earned Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for 16 years. To learn more, visit themmrf.org.

Please support my participation in the MMRF Team for Cures 5K Walk/Run. Your donation will have a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of patients and their families!
