This year, we will be participating in the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Team for Cures 5K Walk/Run in memory of our father and husband, Paul Bollea aka Doggman. He was an inspiration to us all, showing us how to live with passion, humor and love even during the hardest of times.
Paul had many medical challenges but they all stemmed from that initial diagnosis of multiple myeloma back in May 2006. He participated in several MMRF fundraising and outreach events because the foundation was laser focused on finding a cure for this deadly blood cancer.
So why Charlotte? Drew and Lindsay’s move back east was full of possibilities and lots of uncertainties. The actual day Drew was interviewing for a job in Charlotte, the flyer from MMRF announcing the Charlotte walk landed in the Fairfax Station mailbox. Was it a sign? Who knows, but it sure felt like the Doggman was offering his 2 cents. We accepted the challenge we got from the flyer and saw this as a perfect opportunity to thank Paul for “offering” his sage advice and reminding us to keep supporting the research to find a cure.
Please join us -- in Charlotte or by making a donation! Your generosity means so much to our family and will have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of patients and their families. We miss Paul and his infectious laugh every single day, and look forward to celebrating his memory while standing with fellow MMRF supporters to help find a cure.
Thank you, we truly appreciate all of your support!
The Bollea Family
